Lighter pressure is used to warm up and prepare the muscle tissue. As the tissue softens, more focused pressure is applied to target deeper layers of the muscles, tendons, and fascia. Performed using long gliding strokes throughout the body. This technique is used to improve circulation and alleviate tension in the underlying tissue. Swedish Massage is known to increase circulation, promote mental and physical relaxation, decrease stress, and improve flexibility while relieving tension.
Pronounced (ASHI-AT-SU) is a barefoot massage technique performed by using two parallel bars that are mounted on the ceiling over the massage table. The therapist uses the bars to balance and adjust pressure while applying long deep strokes with their feet. The broad plane of the foot creates a deep relaxation while the muscles let go and free constrictions in the tissue.
